Home Sweet Home

I included some pictures here of a mama deer and her fawns grazing outside of our window. It blew us away the first time it happened, but it's happened again since then. We live right next to a wild redwood grove and there's a black bear that lives in close proximity as well. We were told by a neighbor, who has seen it frequently (as it likes to rummage through her garbage), that it has cubs too. Just the other day we went exploring in the forest and thought we heard it, but we'll never know because we ran back up the hill toward our home as fast as we could. We did see a deer though. It was standing majestically in a ray of light, staring at us from a few feet away. Anyways, that's all I really have to report. We've just been going to our Americorps orientation, which has been a lot of paperwork and lectures, and we've turned into craigslist feigns, searching to buy any cheap furniture we can lay our hands on. I'm not sure when I'll be able to write again, but have no worries about us! We're finally getting our feet on the ground.

Love&Peace,
